Matz
etudes
I understand most of Rudolf Matz's
fine etudes for cello in the thumb position are in print and
available through Dominis Music, a Canadian publisher. Problem is, I
can't find a local sheet music store (Washington, D.C. area) that
deals with this publisher! The internet turned up zilch on the name
"Dominis Music", which seems hard to believe. Does anyone out there
have an address or phone number? I would greatly appreciate the
help.

Re:
Matz etudes
Here's an address to write to for a
complete catalogue:
Dominis Music Ltd. Box 11307, Station
H Ottawa Ontario, Canada K2H 7V1
Someone on this board
gave me a phone number as well, but I can't track it down at the
moment.
Shar Music in Michigan carries a lot of Matz music,
but not every title.
Good luck, Kristiana

matz
etudes
this summer, i heard that the thumb
position etudes (more specifically, the "21 etudes in the thumb
position" and perhaps others?) are actually not in print right now.
dominis publishes most of matz's stuff, and i heard that they WILL
be publishing the etudes soon (maybe this year?) but i don't believe
they do right now. i'm looking at my copy right now (oddly enough, i
had them in my bag that i dragged to work with me this morning) and
it looks like a 1961 "muzika naklada" edition? i have a list of all
the dominis publications at home... i can check for you, but i'm
pretty sure this is accurate. you might want to try a music library
or borrow someone's?

Re:
matz etudes
Thanks to both who responded for
your help! I did find some of the titles in the SHAR catalog I
received recently. Too bad the "21 Etudes" are not in print. I was
especially hoping I could get those (they're quite lovely). I am
fortunate to have access to the Library of Congress, where I can at
least photocopy some of them. Good luck and happy cello-ing!
