My Bach
milestone
I was going to post this on the CBN
board but there are people who may not read that who helped get me
here. Yesterday I played the first Bach Prelude during a church
service. I've played other things before, but I was very nervous
about playing Bach because of the difficulty of getting it across to
the listener, and because of how I feel about the music myself. I
played it, though, and it must have worked because many people told
me they enjoyed it (including other musicians and even a couple of
teenagers.) I had one slight memory lapse (I was doing it from the
music but suddenly found my fingers on the wrong notes) but
recovered after two notes. Anyway, since playing that Prelude has
been one of my major cellistic goals, I'm delighted that it went so
well. Thanks to those of you who helped me get here, especially
Eileen, who wrote about Bach, and my cello teachers.

Re: My

Congrats, you must have done really
well! From listening to congregations sing hymns, I get the
impression that most of them aren't particularly...shall we
say...musically inclined (no offense!), and we teenagers...{sigh}
To get Bach across to that kind of audience is quite a
challenge!

Hooray!
Congrats Bobbie!
I'm so happy for you! Those kinds of good experiences make
it all worthwhile, don't they?
