The Everest base camp trek

Part 4: Namche to Tengboche

The Village of Namche Bazzar (elev. 3400m) is the "capital" of the Khumbu region. Its name comes from the Bazzar held on Sundays. This is a place to rest and acclimatize, change money and call home (both are not possible from Namche to Kalla Patar). One may also rent shoes and trekking equipment here.

A group of trekkers eating on a camping ground in Namche. If you are considering not taking this trek due to physical difficulty, consider the age of the people in this picture.

A herd of Yaks. The equipment transportation animal of this region.

Another bridge crossing a raging river.
