The Village of Namche Bazzar (elev. 3400m) is the "capital" of the Khumbu
region. Its name comes from the Bazzar held on Sundays. This is a place
to rest and acclimatize, change money and call home (both are not possible
from Namche to Kalla Patar). One may also rent shoes and trekking equipment
here.

not taking this trek due to physical difficulty, consider the age of the
people in this picture.
