Starting
to walk from Pheriche towards Tukla, one finds himself surrounded by huge
snowy mountains, most of which haven't even got a name. It is early morning
(8 am) and the moon is setting.
Looking back on the valley on a sunny fall day. From afar, Pheriche is
barely visible.
Looking forward on the northern end of the valley and what has to be climbed
to reach Tukla.
A helicopter, probably brining equipment to the climbers at Everest base
camp.
After a short walk the two houses of Tukla are seen. For
anyone who suffered along the way from AMS I recommend
stopping at Tukla for a night of Acclimatization. As it is a 700m climb
from Pheriche (4200m) to Lobuche (4700m). (See
my tips page.)
