The Everest base camp trek

Part 8: Pheriche to Tukla (Duglha)

Starting to walk from Pheriche towards Tukla, one finds himself surrounded by huge snowy mountains, most of which haven't even got a name. It is early morning (8 am) and the moon is setting.

Until it is almost gone.

Looking back on the valley on a sunny fall day. From afar, Pheriche is barely visible.

Same valley from farther yo.

Looking forward on the northern end of the valley and what has to be climbed to reach Tukla.

A helicopter, probably brining equipment to the climbers at Everest base camp.

After a short walk the two houses of Tukla are seen. For anyone who suffered along the way from AMS I recommend stopping at Tukla for a night of Acclimatization. As it is a 700m climb from Pheriche (4200m) to Lobuche (4700m). (See my tips page.)
