THE HONEYMOON 8 x 32 Reel Graded Bk.8

Bars

1-8 1^st couple cast, dance down behind own line, turn out and return to own place

9-16 1^st, 2^nd couples right hands across, back with left hands

17-24 1^st couple cross right hand, cast into 2^nd place for 3 steps, 2^nd move up. Cross left hand , cast round 3^rd for 3 steps, lead up middle into 2^nd place for 2 steps.

25-32 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd couples dance six hands round and back.

THE MACHINE WITHOUT HORSES 8 X 32 Jig Bk12/12

Bars

1-4 1st cpl set & cast 1 place. 2nd cpl move up

5-8 1st & 3rd cpls right hands across once round

9-12 1st cpl set & cast up 1 place. 2nd cpl move down

13-16 1st & 2nd cpls left hands across once round

17-24 1st cpl followed by 2nd cpl dance down between 3rd cpl, cast up round them, dance up to top & cast into 2nd place, while 2nd cpl dance up to top

25-31 1st & 2nd cpls rights & lefts

WALTZ COUNTRY DANCE Bk 4/8

Stand in fours around the room, man's partner on his right both facing the opposite couple.

Bars

1-2 All set to the dancers facing them, moving forward and back.

3-4 All change places with the dancers to whom they have set, passing by the right, ladies doing a waltz turn.

5-8 Repeat as above, setting first to partner.

9-16 Repeat, back to original places.

17-18 All take hands and balance forward and back.

19-20 Men, dancing on the spot, turn lady on their left, to place on their right.

21-32 Repeat bars 17-20 three times.

33-40 Couples waltz to meet next couple, moving in the direction they originally faced.

Bars

1-4 1st man sets to & turns 2nd lady with both hands

5-8 1st lady sets to & turns 2nd man with both hands

9-16 1st cpl giving right hands lead down, cross over below 2nd cpl cast behind 3rd cpl lead up to top cross, cast off & cross to face 1st corners 2nd cpl move up

17-24 1st cpl turn 1st corner with right hand, dance 1/2 way around partner passing right, turn 2nd corner with left hand & pass partner by left to finish 1st lady between 2nd cpl facing down, 1st man between 3rd cpl facing up

25-32 joining hands, 3 & 3, all cpls advance & retire twice. Then 1st couple turn 11/2 times, with both hands, to finish in 2nd place on own side.

The Sailor Hornpipe

1 - 2 1st cpl giving R hands cross over to 2nd place, to finish facing out. 2nd cpl move up

3 - 4 With nearer hands joined, all set

5 - 6 1st lady casts up around 2nd man to finish between 2nd cpl, all facing down.1st man casts around 3rd lady to finish between 3rd cpl, all facing up

7 - 8 All set

9 - 16 Reels of 3 across the dance, 1st cpl giving R shoulder to person on their right to start. 1st cpl finish in 2^nd place on opposite side

17 - 24 1st cpl lead down the middle (2 bars) & up (2 bars), cross over & cast to 2^nd place own side

25 - 32 1st & 2nd cpls Rights & Lefts.

THE HOLLIN BUSS Jig

Bars

1-4 1^st and 2^nd couples advance and retire

5-8 1^st and 2^nd couples, giving right hands, advance and just pass partners, then joining hands in a wheel, dance four hands across half round.

9-16 2^nd and 1^st couples repeat Bars 1-8, but give left hands throughout. All finish in original places.

17-24 1^st couple joining both hands, slip step down the middle and up again.

25-28 !st couple, droppping hands, set and cast off into second place on own sides.

29-32 1^st and 2^nd couples turn partners with right hands.

THE DURAN RANGER 32 Reel Bk 13/1

Bars

1-8 1^st cpl lead down the middle 1^st lady on bar 5 crosses under her partner's arm to lead up on the wrong sides finishing in 2^nd place on wrong side . 2nds move up

9-16 1^st & 2^nd cpls rights & lefts 1^st cpl finish facing corners

17-20 1^st cpl turn 1^st corner R hands then partner with left

21-24 1^st cpl turn 2^nd corner with R hand giving partner L hand in passing cross over to own side one place down

25-32 1^st & 2^nd cpls four hands round & back

THE ST. JOHN RIVER 4 x 32 Strathspey Cent

Bars

1-8 1^st lady casts off, crosses and casts behind 3^rd man ,crosses & casts behind 4th lady crosses to finish below 4^th man. 1^st man follows his partner to finish below 4^th lady.

9-16 1^st couple nearer hands joined dance under 4^th cple arch, turn 11/2 times slowly, dance under 2^nd cpl arch ,out to top

17-24 1^st cpl lead down middle followed by 2,3,4 cpls (who dance up the side lines and follow down).All turn and lead back to place.

25-28 All four cpls. dance back to back.

29-32 1^st cpl wend their way down own sides, rh to 2^nd , lh to 3^rd , rh to 4^th ,finishing in 4^th place.

SALUTE TO MISS MILLIGAN 8X32R

Bars

1-4 1st & 2nd cpls turn right hand once round to finish nearer hands joined facing down

5-8 2nd cpl followed by 1st cpl dance down between 3rd cpl & cast up on own side to finish with 2nd cpl at top

9-12 1st lady with the 2s & 1st man with the 3s dance 3 hands across

13-16 1st cpl turn each other with l hand 11/2 times to finish facing out between corners, lady facing down, man facing up

17-24 1s, 2s & 3s reels of 3 on the sides 1st lady giving left shoulder to 3rd man to begin & 1st man giving l shoulder to 2nd lady to begin1st cpl finish in 2^nd place on own side. 2nd cpl finish with nearer hands joined facing down & 3rd cpl nr hands joined facing up

25-32 all set, then dance r hands across 1/2 way round, break out of wheel & chase clockwise back to places.
