Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, Germany, he worked in Weimar and Leipzig. A master of contrapuntal technique, his music marks the culmination of the Baroque polyphonic style. His huge output includes orchestral works such as the six Brandenburg Concertos in 1721, organ works, more than 200 cantatas and large-scale choral works such as the St. Matthew Passion in 1729 and the Mass in B Minor in 1733.
