An unofficial, user's guide to Landmark Trust properties.
Stephanie and I first discovered The Landmark Trust just after
we met and manage about three stays a year, usually in the winter weekends when
they are a lot less expensive and we are in need of a diversion from the winter
doldrums. We have had some unbelievably good weather too - don’t let the time
of year put you off, and if it rains what the hell? - you just have more time
to explore and enjoy the property. The Landmark Trust manage to meet the challenge
of achieving sympathetic renovation with the inclusion of modern amenities faultlessly.
They also furnish in a way which allows comfort and antique realism without
being fussy or making the visitors feel they daren’t touch anything. There is
a very homely accessible feel to Landmark properties which is too consistent
to be anything other than carefully crafted. They know what they are doing and,
yes, they charge you for it but if you go in winter and if
you fill the properties up, they are just about affordable to ordinary folk like us. After the bland homogeneity
of hotel chains staying somewhere unique has to have its own value.
In the Left hand frame you'll find a list of properties that
we or other landmarkers have visited.

Please Note!
I no longer service this site so I will not be updating with any more reviews of properties. Many thanks to those who have contributed in the past. I'll leave the site running as a resource but be warned that information may be out of date.
