Nira Maisky



Nira Maisky, the daughter of late Valery Maisky, was born in Israel in 1976. She started playing the piano at the age of five and became a pupil at the Givataim Conservatoire in Israel, studying piano and harmony between the age of eight and fourteen. At the age of sixteen Nira began playing the organ. In addition, Nira also accompanied several musicians on piano and harpsichord and gave several solo-organ recitals at the Emmanuel Church in Jaffa, Israel. Aside from solo work and accompanying Nira took part as a singer in various choirs and participated in master classes and workshops of organ and early music ensembles.

· 2003: Harpsichord student at the Royal Conservatoire of Music and Dance, The Hague, Holland

· 2002 and 2000-01: Received harpsichord grant from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation

· 2001: Solo organ recitals: Westerkerk, Amsterdam and Emmanuel Church, Jaffa, Israel

· 2000: Harpsichord student at the Royal Conservatoire of Music, Brussels, Belgium

· 1998: Received an organ grant from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation

· 1995-99: Studied Organ and Piano for the B. Mus.(Hons) Performance degree at the Royal College of Music, London, UK (degree received in 1999)

· 1990-94: Municipal high school of Visual and Performing Arts, studying Music, Fine Arts and Art History

· 1993/4:Organ master classes with Marie Claire Alain (Brigham Young University, Jerusalem, Israel)

· Early music workshops: master classes with John Toll, Jerusalem, Israel

· Solo Organ recitals at the Emmanuel Church, Jaffa, Israel

· 1984-90: Studying Piano and Harmony at the Givataim Music Conservatoire, Israel
