This is the Mander at St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City I got to see with the Organ Week group in 98 and 99. This is my discription of the 98 trip:

We went to see this after the 141 rank St. John the Divine Aeolean-Skinner. It seemed like it took forever to get to the organ! All of us were so excited, we were practicaly pushing each other up the five flights of stairs. And, there it was. The neo-baroque organ was shining with it's tin pipes, oak case and detailed carvings. The first thing to catch our eyes were the large 16' footers in the facad. They were very fooling, they almost look the size of 32's, but they were just extended 16's. I was one of the first to play, so i decided on Pachelbel's "Toccata in E" to get the place grovin'. Then my freinds and I went inside the organ while it was playing! We were screaming our heads off and no one could hear us. We kept yelling to whomever was at the console to "Play the Bombardes!". Here are the specs for ther organ. I was lucky enough to have had ear plugs in. Then my friend Matt and I went to the very top of the organ and could almost touch the ceiling! Then we all had to crowd around the console to get a picture in the hot church. All in all, it's a great organ! Well, actually it's the Grand Orgue, but were not going for technicalities here. :)

Ian wants to be "Positif"!

Me playing some funky Pachelbel(Yo quero Pachelbel!)
