Mostly Mozart

Mozart is certainly one of my favourite composers. He composed during the Classical period and lived from 1756 - 1791. He composed many symphonies, operas and concertos.
His father was a violin teacher, and was gifted, but his son, it was apparent, was something special. Mozart took up the Harpsichord aged three when his sister was taking lessons.

It was soon obvious that the young boy was very special. He was a child prodigy. He was going on tour to show off his talent while still a very young boy. He was soon composing and wrote his first symphony aged just eight years old, and he completed his first opera three years later. He was composing works which are still regarded as classics today when he was only a teenager.

Mozart was a perfectly ordinary man in every other way. He liked wine, women, and his friends. This is proven by the drinking songs which he wrote. These were recently discovered by people from Harvard. They were kept quiet because of some of the obscene lyrics! This shows that Mozart was not the serious man that he is pictured as.
Despite all the fame and talent, Mozart was not a very wealthy man. He often had to ask for money from his family and friends.
He married against his father's will. The couple had a son, which unfortunately did not live for very long. Despite the tension between the father and son, Mozart was very distraught at his father's death.
Just before he died, Mozart was treated in hospital, which only added to his stress and financial worries. He died aged just 35.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote some of the most snjoyable music ever. It often paints pictures in the mind of the listener. He wrote over 40 symphonies in his time, some of them classics.
One of his most famous pieces is A Little Night Music. It has all the class and style of a Mozart piece.
Mozart also wrote many operas, and one of the best is The Marriage of Figaro. The overture in particular is very good.
So, Mozart's tragically short life wasn't as he is usually pictured. A true genius, but down to earth at the same time.
