This is a portrait of Mr. Edward Middleton Barry, the architect who designed the Royal Opera House of Malta.

Mr. Barry was also the renowned architect who designed the Houses of Parliament in London.

This is a view of the Opera House as it stood in1866 soon after it was built.

The glamorous interior before it was destroyed by fire in 1873.

A view of what was left of the interior after the fire in 1873.

The 'new' Opera House looked very similar although not identical after being re-constructed and completed in1877.

This picture was taken in the early1920's and portrays life in the city around a beautiful piece of architecture.

A look at the new interior of the auditorium sometime in the1930's

Another view of life in the city around the theatre, but this time with automobiles! (1935 ish)

The day it all ended! 7th April 1942.

This is the sad ending of the Royal Opera House in Malta.

My belief, is that, if the Opera House was built Once, Twice, then it can be built the third time !

Thank-you for visiting this site and please, please, please send in your views.

This may be our only hope.
