So long, Quotebook the Second

May 11th, 2000 - April 6th, 2002

Quotebook the Second passed away in a crowded event room in the Student Alumni Union at R.I.T. surrounded by its friends. Q2's last words were "X, Y, and Z." Jess Cohen was the one who reluctantly had to pull the plug on our dear friend The Second. Quotebook the Second died doing what it loved doing best, quoting, just like it's predecessor, The Quotebook. Q2 has gracefully passed on the duties of recording quotes to its green offspring, Quotebook the Third.

Quotey Days

The quotiest day in Quotebook the Second was December 28th, 2001, with 14 quotes. On this day Margaret was quoted for the first time, and thrice, at that! Then Cricket was quoted thrice, and Kathleen thrice as well. This was the day when Kathleen and I followed our noses from the Dojo to the Green Garden Chinese restaurant. The evening then proceeded to Hoter's house where Matt, Sara, Kim, Kathleen, Tompy, and Disuhan were quoted.

Another quotey day happened only ten days before that. December 18th, 2001 saw 12 quotes. Misinterpretations of a map of Brazil, Kathleen being strange, and an exceptionally hysterical conversation about saltines happened. Sara, Hoter, Tompy, Kathleen, me, and MaryBeth were quoted.

The longest stretch of days quoted was the period that started with the first day of Quotebook the Second (5/11/00) and ended on the 28th of that month, 18 days total.

The longest stretch of quoteless days was from 11/6/01 to 11/15/01, a 10-day drought.

The quotiest month in Quotebook the Second was November 2000, with 108 quotes. Highlights include a road trip with Jennie Graziano, kaPUNG, election 2000, things that come in crocks, Moorish girlyness, Vivien Vivien Vivien ... Smith!, Miriam's manifesto in support of same-sex marriage, emoticons, games at Lisa's house, confusing Stupid Penguin, Kevin, Ben trying to give directions and MAtt saying "dzizzit!", reasons why I'ma freak of nature, indeed, Sara and I simultaneously getting action, and finally, "Frankly, being in pain is not so great."

December 2001 was in a close second with 101 quotes, having the two most quotey days.

The least quotey month was September 2001, with 21 quotes.

Ben: I say March 15th. Caesar was told to beware the Ides of March, and I think the quotebook's chances aren't looking so good for that day either. But, I could be wrong. Oh well - I have enough baked goods for the moment :o)

Kathleen: I guess March 21 because its an equinox...equinox! Horse...ox....Neigh! BAM!

Sara: I am arbitrarily picking March 29th for the quotebook rememberance pool. Huzzah.

Me: My guess is 4/09 because it puts grease on the run.

Kelly Stallard: APRIL 18, it is a good friends birthday and a good opportunity for the quotebook to die. Weeee!

Bryanna Parr: APRIL 21, 2002 (This is a Sunday, MY 23rd BIRTHDAY) and if the book is not yet expired I will try extra hard to be extra fun and say quote-able things (even though I know it is hard to be quoted at the end) on the afore mentioned date.

Adam J. Davidowitz: I believe that the most honourable Quotebook II shall cease operations on 4/27/02.
