Elisabeth Roloff
Born on Germany, Elisabeth Roloff is recognized internationally as an outstanding concert organist. She has performed in many important cathedrals, churches and concert hall in Europe (including The Royal Festival Hall in London and Notre Dame in Paris) as well as in the United States, Mexico, Russia, and South America (Buenos Aires, Montevideo and San Paolo). Sinve 1992 Miss. Roloff gave organ recitals also in the important music centres of Eastern Europe (Leipzig, Budapest, Prague, Kiev, Riga, etc.). She has been acclaimed by the critics and has been presentd in major festivals as well as in the radio in many countries.After graduating from the Hochschule Fur Musik in Cologne, Miss. Roloff continued her studies with Ralph Downes in the Royal College of Music in London. In mid 1970s she studied French music with Marie-Clair Alain and while she was based in Paris she was appointed "Organiste Titulaire" of the German Church there.
Elisabeth Roloff appears in Israel regularly as recitalist as well as with Israel leading orchestras. In 1985 she performed the complete organ works of J.S.Bach in the "Bach Organ Festival' in Jerusalem, commemorating the Tersentennial aniversary of the composer's birth. She is currently the organist at the Redeemer Church in Jerusalem and faculty member of the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance.
Her repertoire encompasses almost any important work of the international repertoire: from the Renaissance and the Baroque, through the Classical and Romantic period - to the music of our time, which she endeavors to include always in her recitals.
Elisabeth Roloff has made numerous commercial recordings, CDs, and audiocassettes of a large repertoire of organ works by Bach, Buxtehude,
ozart, and Pachelbel, as well as a recording of "Musica sacra at the Redeemer Church in Jerusalem." Her most recent CD, recorded in six different churches in Jerusalem, were she regularly gives recitals, was released last year under the title "Orgellandschaft Jerusalem."
