Velin Iliev

Velin Iliev was born in Sofia. He graduated from the Sofia Music School as a pianist, and continued his studies in the Brno Music Academy (The Czech Republic), with Professor Alena Vesela. He graduated in 1980. He is a recepient of a honorary diplom from the Second Internation Organ Competition "Anton Bruckner" in Linz (1978). He attended master classes in the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. Some of his teachers were Lionel Rogg, Guy Bovet, Michael Schneider, Almut Roessler.
Mr. Iliev is an active recitalist in Bulgaria and abroad. He is the founder of the "Organ Metamorphoses" cycles in Sofia, in which he performs organ music from different historical periods and styles, music for organ and other instruments, and various works by Bulgarian composers.
