| GENERAL STUFF |
 Meet Tsukino Usagi (Tsoo-kee-noh Ooh-sah-gee). This whiny girl is actually the one and only Sailormoon (セーラームーン), leader of the Sailor Soldiers. She cries a lot, is constantly lax in her responsibilities, and is supposedly not very smart. She is very sensitive, especially about her, uh, unique hairstyle. ^^ In the beginning, she's insecure and the total opposite of a good leader...well, actually, she always is! ^^; But she does get better! As she grows older and more used to being the Moon Princess, she gets less whiny and more secure, becoming more of a responsible leader. Usagi begins in Juuban Junior High with Ami and Makoto (Japanese schools often use a sailor-suit design for the school uniform), but later gets into Juuban High School. Usagi is totally nuts over her "Tuxedo Kamen-sama." She thinks he "hung the moon." Sorry. Couldn't resist. ^^;; The anime really plays up the relationship between Usagi and Rei. (Sorry horny eechi-dudes, they are not lesbian lovers. ~_~) Rei is always on Usagi's case about something; she's even slapped her around a few times. Usagi has a pretty good relationship with all of the other senshi, but Haruka in particular really took a shine to her! So did Seiya. Come to think of it, Usagi just seems to be the kind of person that can bust into your heart whether you want her to or not! ^_~ |
| MY OPINION |
 I don't hate her; she just bugs me sometimes. I get kind of tired of her always saving the day as it makes the others seem a little redundant at times. She is a lot better during Stars and mostly during S, but she still annoys me on many occasions. The way she completely hangs on every word Tuxedo Kamen says in the beginning grates my nerves, but like her, it matures and becomes a real love. She's got a heart of gold, but let's just say she's not always all there upstairs. Being the star of the show, she "powers up" more often than the others (Super Sailormoon スーパーセーラームーン and エターナルセーラームーン Eternal Sailormoon), and this entails a lot of suit changes. Her original is a classic, but I liked her Super fuku best. If you look closely, you can see that there are differences between her fuku in S and SuperS. I like the S one better as it has green in it. Green rules! ^^ I thought the puffy sleeves on her eternal fuku and the little thingies at the ends of the gloves were stupid, but her Eternal fuku was cool. Her hair, of course, is the main attraction here. ^^ Odangos are definately not something you see everyday; however, awhile back, SOS had a link to a girl's webpage where she had a how-to on real-life odangos! They're really a scream. |
