The Music Teachers’ Association of California sponsors a study program entitled the Certificate of Merit. The goals of the program are:
- To provide a systematic and comprehensive program of performance, sight reading, technic, theory and ear training that can be accomplished by the majority of the students.
- To give an opportunity for musical growth that can instill and expand a student’s appreciation for and understanding
of music.
- To develop practical goals for students enabling them to maintain a steady and conscientious study program.
There are sylabi for piano, violin, viola, cello, oboe, clarinet, voice and organ.
Registration is due by November 1, 1998.

The Young Artists Guild is the Certificate of Merit Channel through which our most gifted and advanced students are recognized and assisted in semi-professional performance opportunities statewide throughout the year. The Edith Snypp Fund grants financial aid to Y.A.G. members to further their education throughout the year. Participants are members of Y.A.G. for five years after chosen.

VOCE provides incentives for teachers and opportunities for students to perform in area auditions and at the State Convention Recital.
