Purpose Statement
The purpose of Northmont Community Church and, therefore, the reason for its existence is to:
1. Exalt God - Worship
- Through prayer
- Through worship, celebration, and praise
- Through Godly living and adherence to God's Word
- Through sacrificial giving, service, and use of our spiritual gifts
Psalm 34:3 "Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together."Psalm 99:5 "Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; He is holy."1 Cor. 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do; do it all for the glory of God." Hebrews 13:15 "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name."2. Equip Believers - Discipleship
1 Thes. 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
- Through prayer
- Through Bible preaching, teaching, study, and application
- Through agape love, encouragement, and fellowship
- Through sharing, meeting needs, and assimilation
Hebrews 10:24-25 "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching."3. Evangelize to Non-Believers - Evangelism
- Through prayer
- Through reaching out and communicating the Gospel
- Through equipping and sending out laborers worldwide
- Through sacrificial giving and involvement in local needs
2 Tim. 4:5 "But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge the duties of your ministry." Luke 10:2 "He told them, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, thertefore, to send out workers into His harvest field."
Matt. 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age."
