The Royal National Scottish Orchestra is the top group in Scotland. They give regular concerts at the concert hall in Glasgow. The orchestra recently appointed a new principal conductor, Alexander Lazarev.

The Concert Hall in Glasgow is the best place for concerts. It has lots of facilities, like conference rooms, snack bars, and of course, the hall. It is huge, and has good accoustic qualities.

The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and drama is the one of the best music schools in the UK. It has both a Junior and Senior Academy in which young musicians can work towards fulfilling their potential.

The schools in Scotland are also commited to providing an opportunity for music.

The National Children's Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra provide valuable experience to young musicians who are learning skills. Both are very worthwhile experiences. They have a residential visit for about a week where the young people can practise their technique, familiarise themselves with the music and socialize with other people like themselves. In addition to these orchestras, the Scottish regions also have Bands and orchestras which perform concerts and also help musicians to gather experience and talent.

Scotland is an excellent place for music, at all levels. From the schools right through to the RSNO, the talent is there.
