Greetings. Unlike some of your less reasonable cousins, I trust you will be able to reason with. As you know, our clans have had less than friendly relations before, and I worry for our children's security and purity. Myself being a mother, I seek more than the word that my children will be secure. I seek my child, and those of my bretheren back.

      The reason I wish them back is obvious. In your parenting, you would, as a matter of course, train them in the manner of a Crane, with Crane ideals and mannerisms. This would lead to the eventual extinction of my Clan's ways. I make this one appeal to you -- Return my clan's children.

      Either that, or face the blades of a hundred knives that you cannot see. Drink the poison from a bottle that was never there. Face the truth of not being allowed a swift, honorable death. Surrender our children and join us, and the reward shall be the gift of an Empire. Refuse, and the reward shall be your soul screaming into the void. It is your choice, honorable Crane.
