The concert was held in the Velodrom which is underground and was originally built for Berlin's bid to hold the Olympics and is in what used to be old East Berlin so was not sold out (possibly because it's so difficult to find!). The front curtain was back for this concert but two things were missing - Ray's glasses and, more pleasingly, Kasim's beard!
Kasim was wearing his usual long black leather coat (as usual he took it off at the beginning of Anything For Love) and black trousers with a brown mottled effect jumper (his ring was back).
Once again we were treated to the Rock'n'Roll melody so that now seems a regular part of the show as this audience were not as responsive as others (usually Meat Loaf lets the audience sing the second verse of Too Outta Three but this crowd wouldn't). It's amazing how deep Kasim sings those solo lines in Summertime Blues! Again Pearl sang lead on I Love Rock'n'Roll (Meat Loaf told the audience that Kasim used to play with Joan Jett) and she only looked at the words to reassure herself rather than singing off them!
The whole band (especially Meat Loaf and Kasim) seemed to really enjoy this concert but I hope that for the next tour they are back to the Deutschelande Halle and a larger audience that they deserve.
