THIS IS IT

August 6, 2001

On the Pianoworld Piano Forum and elsewhere, I have for a long time been touting the wonderful quality and value of the Fandrich & Sons pianos. The small print under the name might be hard to read. It says "TECHNICALLY AND MUSICALLY SUPERIOR PIANOS AT MODERATE PRICES." Sound too good to be true? It isn't. This is exactly what these pianos are. The name is pronounced FOND-rick. So far, I have made two trips to see Darrell Fandrich, the creator of these wonderful musical instruments, and shall doubtless make another visit fairly soon. Both times I had pictures taken which mysteriously never turned out. I vow this shall not happen again. In the meantime, just to make this piece more interesting, I'll borrow his from his website.

Pictured above are two views of Darrell's masterful 7 foot grand, the Fandrich & Sons Model 213HGS (6' 11") (same length as a Steinway B or Mason & Hamlin BB) featuring a German Renner action and Abel hammers, Fandrich HGS bass scale, completely dealer prepped (and what marvelous prep!). It's available in ebony and walnut finishes. A hand-rubbed satin finish is available for $750 more. Currently this piano is being offered for an unbelievable $26,950. Why unbelievable? Because this piano and all of the other Fandrich pianos for that matter, are among the best in the world. They will compete well against ALL competitors. These pianos offer a level of performance to a master pianist, or even one who aspires to become one, for a fraction of what one would have to pay for a half dozen of the more famous named pianos. Every single piano I played in his showroom in the woods, 45 minutes north of Seattle is absolutely first rate, easily ranking among the best available anywhere. I realize that these are quite astounding claims, but they happen to be true. If you have looked everywhere else and haven't found "your" piano, I sincerely believe that you will find it here.

I will have far more to say about Darrell Fandrich and his wonderful pianos anon, but meanwhile make an appointment and go see and play some of the best pianos on earth!
