Inventory and Prices.

Our inventory normally contains up to 100 Steinways of all sizes from the smallest (5'1 " model S) to the largest (8' 11" model D). At any one time, about 1/3 of these pianos are complete and ready to play while the others are in the process of being restored. Most of the pianos we sell are fully rebuilt and refinished "vintage era" grands that generally cost from 20% to 30% less than comparable new models. These pianos typically have traditional ebony or wood veneer cases, but there are almost always a few with unusual carvings or decorations.

We also usually have a few nearly new Steinways that look, feel and sound like new. However, these pianos are more attractive than new Steinways because they cost about 25% less than new and because they are fully backed by the "Faust Harrison" five year guarantee. Our traditional style fully rebuilt grand pianos cost between $23,000. and $54,000., depending upon size and finish, but we also often have a few excellent pianos that are not fully rebuilt and which therefore cost even less. Presently, we have a few such pianos starting at around $17.000. Traditionally, Steinway prices increase at year's end. Lately, the increases have been about 5% per year.

Financing.

Qualified customers may purchase one of our Steinways with as little as 10% down. Low rate financing of the balance (for up to 96 months) makes ownership of a "Faust Harrison" Steinway possible with affordable low monthly payments.

About Faust Harrison Pianos:

Faust Harrison Pianos sells the world's finest concert quality Steinway grand pianos. We specialize in "vintage era" Steinways (highly prized pianos built between 1890 and 1945) that we rebuild to the highest standards possible. Preserving little more than the original piano cases and cast iron plates, we use the finest materials and the most highly specialized techniques to create exquisite, rich sounding, pianos that are virtually new. These pianos are widely considered to be the very best pianos available in the world today. With proper care, they should last a lifetime and keep increasing in value. Rebuilt 'vintage era" Steinways from Faust Harrison Pianos typically have had higher re-sale values, and have increased in value more rapidly, dm practically every new piano on the market, including new Steinways. Since Faust Harrison Pianos is the largest retailer of fully rebuilt Steinways in the U.S., we almost always have just the right piano for each of our customers.

How a "Faust Harrison" rebuilt Steinway differs from a new Steinway:

1. GENUINE STEINWAY HARPS: The heart of a piano is its cast iron harp or "plate". Most Steinways built before 1945 contain genuine Steinway harps that were cast in the Steinway foundry in New York. Harps in Steinways built more recently come from non-Steinway commercial foundries. It is generally believed that harps from the New York Steinway foundry are the best harps ever made. These harps are found in most of our rebuilt pianos but are never found in new pianos.

2. RENNER ACTIONS: Most pianists prefer the touch and the precise control created by action parts made to Steinway specifications in Germany by the Renner Company. German Steinways and almost all of our rebuilt Steinways contain these superior parts whereas new American Steinways usually do not.

3. CUSTOM BASS STRINGS: Our rebuilt pianos contain hand-wound bass strings that are dramatically superior to the bass strings contained in most new pianos. Most pianists greatly prefer the strong fundamental tone created by these strings.

4. HAND RUBBED FINISH: Our piano cases are graced with a hand-rubbed lacquer finish that is strikingly more elegant than the finish found on most new Steinways.

5. CUSTOM SOUNDBOARDS & BRIDGES: Our super-select spruce soundboards and hard-rock maple bridges are specialty seasoned and handcrafted to produce unsurpassed tonal quality and durability.

6. EXPERIENCED CRAFTSMANSHIP: The craftsmen who install and regulate the actions and dampers in our rebuilt pianos and the tuners who tune and voice these pianos are highly trained specialists with more Steinway piano experience than the craftsmen and tuners who build and tune most new Steinways.

7. FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED: Because Faust Harrison Pianos is family owned and operated, our dedication to customer service is as strong as our five-year warranty.
