Your wedding day is a very special day.
The music you choose for the service or reception will enhance the day
for everyone and make a vital contribution to the occasion.
For the wedding ceremony, the Pentetetra String Quartet provides music for approximately twenty minutes beforehand, as the guests are arriving. We will then play as many pieces as you desire throughout the service. We would be delighted to assist you in structuring your service and will make suggestions where required.
After the ceremony, music is provided until the guests have
left the church.
The quartet will work with a vocalist of your choice, or can recommend one if preferred. Alternatively, many couples choose a service simply with the String Quartet alone. The Quartet would be prepared to arrange a specially required piece of music not currently listed on our repertoire. Such arranging must be requested well in advance of the service.
For a reception, the String Quartet provides both classical and
contemporary music for up to two hours or so.
A string quartet is a group of four instruments--two violins, a viola and a cello. Almost all famous classical composers have written extensively for this grouping. Just about any piece of music sounds well when performed by a string quartet. This is true of famous pieces as diverse as Pachelbel's Canon and the Beatles' "When I'm Sixty Four"!
The Pentetetra String Quartet is made up of experienced musicians, all currently playing both orchestral and chamber music in Dublin. Our repertoire includes just about everything you are likely to ask for - from Vivaldi to Guns ‘N Roses! We are particularly proud of our classical arrangements of pop songs.
The Quartet typically wears formal black for your special occasion.
Our requirements are simple: we need four chairs with flat seats and no arms, and shade if we are
playing outdoors. If you have any questions with regard to any of the above,
do not hesitate to email us at Pentetetra
