The Vienna Award - A New Era
This is a sample of how the Vienna Award graphics will appear, with and without note pins
Throughout the years of its existence, The Vienna Award has progressed from an individual's acknowlegement of website excellence to a symbol of the excellence of the entire community, a symbol of the standards toward which we all strive. That it has done so has been because of the efforts of two men, John (Bassist) and Robert (cl_kaulana), who have given their time and energy to propel the award to the prominent position it holds today.

But, alas, the wings of time and fortune always bring change, and now we find the administration of the award passing into new hands. As is customary with a new administration, some changes are being made to reflect the consideration the new regime has given to its duties. Probably the most significant change is that the award will now be given by the consensus of two rather than one. Secondly, having spent many hours discussing the award and its place in the community, we are choosing to add our designs for new award icons to the existing designs.

The Vienna Vanguard Award remains to mark the "best of the best" in Vienna, but we felt that there was room between the Vanguard and Vienna awards for an acknowlegement of superior achievement in content, design, or some other notable distinction. Therefore, we are introducing the addition of "notes," small markers or "pins," to be added to the basic award icon. Homesteaders who feel that they might qualify for these note pins may apply for them with their Vienna Award application, or if they already have the award, they may apply to have the pins added. The choice of the basic award icon is up to the applicant. The list of recent Vienna Award recipients, and the application form for the Vienna Award/Note Pins will still be on The Vienna Award Page.

The newest award
The latest recipient, and the first Vienna Award granted under the new regime is Violin Garden. Have fun visiting this highly interactive site centered around the author's love of the violin.
