the three bamboo lemur species, weighing up to 2.4 kg.
Fun Facts: It is found in humid forest, where it subsists
on a diet consisting mainly of bamboo. Groups of greater bamboo
lemurs range from 4 - 12 individuals. The greater bamboo lemur was
once found in western, northern and central Madagascar. The greater
bamboo lemur is threatened by slash-and-burn cultivation, hunting
and the cutting of bamboo, its major source of food.
