Rear Brake Pads This page is written by Ameen Rizvi.Do it at your own risk. Well i use the Emergency brake alot. That is why i think my brake pads went out so quickly. I drift around turns when i am doing SCCA style racing and use the Emergency brake quite often. I needed to change my rear pads and thought that this would be a great time to take pics and post it.
Tools needed:
Wrachet
10mm Socket
12mm Socket
Flathead Screwdriver
New Brake Pads

MAKE SURE THE CAR IS COOLED OFF
Here are the steps which to follow. If you need more info email me at : hondaboi@aol.com
Step 1:Jack up the car. The most difficult part. ;P Make sure you get the proper jack point and the car wont shift on you. The emergency brake has to be off.
Step 2:Take the wheel off via the 4 bolts. Then you will encounter something like this!
Step 3:I have highlighted the two bolts that need to be removed. The lower one will come out easy using the 12mm socket. The top one will require removing the cover that is behind it. That comes off easily when you take off the two 10mm bolts holding it on.

Step 4:When the bolts are off, the caliper make take some negotiation to come out and you amy ending up cussing like a sailor, but it will come out. Dont hang it by the brake line.

New Pads Vs. Old
Step 5:TRICKY PART: When you put the new pads on, youll find the caliper wont fit over it since they are larger. Notice how the Caliper (round thing metal object) has a philips head type notches on it. All you have to do is turn the caliper in more and it will fit over the new pads.
DONE!
