My Family My Friends My Interests My ??

I Vijayanand Gurudev, son of Gurudev C J and Nagarathna, took a dynamic space on this third planet from Sun on 24th of June, 1976.

As a small kid I do not remember much, except the cockroach dream I had.

My appa/amma had taken me to Delhi, I just remember the papad at Madras Cafe, climbing stairs of Qutub Minar... Missing my dad in train in Nagpur, when he got down to get Oranges for me. Also I was held back by my mom, when I approached the beach...The end of Delhi Mumbai trip
Moving into school.... I studied at Tilak Memorial English School from LKG - II Standard.. I do not remember much about this schooling, it was fun and I enjoyed travelling to school in city bus all the way from KHB Colony Magadi Road.

My mom was always worried, but I used to sleep and go to Kamakshipalya sometimes in bus.

Most of the free time was into playing kannu katta aata, blind fold along with cousins Puttakka and Guddiakka.

Rest of the times was to trouble my brother.

My sister (Rohini) was born on Apr 28, 1983. I remember playing with her in the Joli along with my brother and all three landed on the ground, luckily mom had provided lots of padding into the joli, so she was safe even after the fall.

That was the end, I never got into Joli again.

Joli - A cradle made out of saree, old bedsheets, blankets - to make the young infants sleep. Normally it is tied to the roof, so that it can hang around.

Kids get good sleep, as it is covered and very warm inside. Also the venitlation is very good and it is quite dark, so kids assume its night and sleep for long.
Ok moving further, we all shifted to J P Nagar III Phase, the golden period of my child hood, since I remember the most of it.

It was change of school, change of friends, change of my whole life... I miss those days.
I joined Standard 3 and my brother too joined the same school in LKG, it was a small school, renamed it into St.Paul's English School from Hemrose.

The class strength was some where around wait let me recollect the names - Aruna, Bindhu, Darshan, Yugunder, Sachin, Gautham, Kusuma, Ashok, Sandesh, Manian, Roopa D H, Varalakshmi Bogale, Mary Meglate, Siddartha, Vijay Anand G,

Sorry if I have forgotten some one.

A small school with Headmistress Miss.V Savithri our class teacher, Miss. Poornima teaching English, etc., and Miss Leelavathy - the only and most hated teacher in my lifetime.

Principal was good - but vice principal - Mr.Shah I never liked him, but his shoes were always polished and very shining in deed.

Mr.Manjunath was our PT Master - Dodge ball was the game which we always played.

Standard III was good, Independance day and sports day was very interesting and I loved my school, I loved my friends, infact these are the people who really made a big difference in my life.. Some of them are my lifetime friends.

Moving to Standard 4, new joinees came in, the strength raised - Kavitha, Dabba, to recollect a few. Yasir Drabu rejoined the school from Jammu Kashmir.
Standard 5 - I remember the school really grew - we got in Ashish Kalkar, Aditi Kalkar, Reshma MV, Parinita Prasad, Anand Bhatta, Kaushik, Gautham H R, Karthik, Arumugam, etc., I need to look into photograph to remember the names. Madhavi, Seema, Abhimatha Kala, etc.,

Standard 6 - I remember Naveen, Reshma Bhat, joining us.

Standard 7 - I enjoyed, coz we were full time into Scouts, etc., Cycling... The most adventurous thing we did was to go for trekking all the way to cave temple from Kaushik's house warming ceremony. Most of my friend's mother cursed me I guess for such a holy task which I did. No one had sufficient money to return back from Hulimavu, so we had to resort to a Lorry carrying jelly... It was quite painful to sit and come all the way till 15th cross J P Nagar. I was beaten black and blue for doing such a daring thing.. I remember, Aruna and her sisters, Reshma Bhat with her brother, myself, Manian.
Standard 8 - We split into ICSE and SSLC division. I opted for SSLC and was with Aditi, Bindhu, Chaitra, Meera, Parinita, Reshma Bhat, Reshma M V, Vidya M S and boys - Darshan, Kaushik, Manian, Naveen, Sandeep, Vijayanand and Yugunder. Now Yugunder had transformed into Gander Goose bitta......

We all enjoyed schooling a lot, Scouting too had taken a major part of my life.

We enjoyed, regular fights of Chaitra and Darshan with benches and chairs. All boys, wore pants from Standard 8 and we started staring at girl's as usual, the skirts were getting shorter as the growth rate was faster, but still some managed to alter the length of the skirt.

We boys were becoming naughtier day by day and mustache started developing, voice broke and it was all fun, I remembered all this while watching American Pie.

We even started to watch at our senior class girls too.... Oh man... it was too good, I miss it even today.

Standard 9 - We were caught by principal for expecting our Geogrpahy teacher to be visualized in bikini.... Some one else dreamt of it and myself, Darshan and Kaushik were caught for this. All kirik's used to happen in ICSE class and we were caught as we were three rowdies of the school.

1991 - 1992 Standard 10 - I became quite serious about my studies, since it was tough to get into college. Most of the time was into studies, tutions and taking mock exams..

This was the only year where I studied and got good marks in my entire academics.
1992 - 1994 Puc I and II - I studied at Vijaya PU College, Jayanagar. I PUC was full of going to City Central Library, Southend Circle or in college library or visit other friends. II PUC was full of studies again and we ended up in getting good scores. I was determined to get into Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal.

It was a long wait for CET results and counselling too. It was the era of hopes, dreams, etc., Everyone was busy in choosing what they want to become.

Atlast I got into KREC Surathkal with Civil Engineering as my specialization.
1994 - 1998 KREC, Surathkal, the best part of my lifetime.

I need another website to write about my KREC days. It was pure fun, ragging, meeting new people from all over the nation, a huge exposure to technical world. Missed my good old Bangalore days, my dear friends, my girl friend, everyone.

But I found few people who are with me in my difficult times, cheered me up when I fell down.
1998 onwards it is purely a professional job. Many unexpected things happened in my life. It took many turns and would update more on this.
