Windows Batch File for auto login to an ftp server

One of the things I don't like is to waste my time connecting to ftp server and the pain of remembering the servername, username and password and typing errors possible. Before proceeding with the way to automate this, one important warning: "Storing your username and password in a text file is dangerous and can be a potential risk. So use it with caution and at your own risk".

Steps:

1. Open a text editor for example notepad

2. Put your ftp commands in that. Example:

@ECHO OFF

ftp replace_with_ftp_server_name

replace_with_username

replace_with_password

3. Save this file as "ftp_somename.bat". E.g. server5.bat

4. You are done. Just click the bat file and you will be taken to the ftp server logged in

5. Please remember once more that I strongly suggest not to use the username and password option and rather provide them on the console. I do not promote this and own no responsibility arising due to use of this
