"Through Chasms Caves and Titan Woods"
1995
Starting on theirs first track "Carpathian Forest"
in Black Metal style with harsh vocals quite aggressive,
Carpathian Forest change sounding after some minutes to more
softy and slowly than could be expected. This miscellaneous record
doesn't allow to dispose own mood to perceive music in a total range.
A very shot playing time (appr. 19min) produces the impression that
something have escaped from you. But anyway this is a good record.
You could find here a parallels with
"Vempire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustien" by
Cradle Of Filth, if you've heard it. Despite of some alloys
spoiling this "Through Chasms Caves and Titan Woods", the
mysterious and poetic spirit of this first creature of the band from
Norway makes the album worth to buy it and to listen while the pale
mist hovers towards the nightly shores...
