In a difference of predecessor album this one has not only contemplative cover versions of other bands but also own songs.
Except first track and few of other written by "Monks from Greece" themselves, all covers look weak and lamely.
Especially I was dissapointed by cover version of Deep Purple song "Child in Time": started with a very
primitive arrangement and than after fourth minute, before
the main part, the song was ended. Moreover, other covers contain nothing except enlarged vocals and
keyboards replacing of other instruments with drum-machine. but much of the album comes off sounding more
like a lyceum glee club than Gregorian chant. It seem this album is nothing more then attempt to engage listeners in the world
of classical chorus misic using for this such cheap tricks like a pop-sounding of well-known songs, church attributes, and
female vocals.
And at the end I want to ask: If Gregorian call themselves the belongers to Orthodox Greece church,
why have they made the disign of CD in a perfect Catholic style? Maybe to get much customers...
