MORGOTH
1989 "Ressurection Absurd" 1989
1990 "The Eternal Fall" 1990
1991 "Cursed" 1991

"Cursed" is possibly the only uncommon album that actually justified a bit of the NWOBHM solos using inside of the Death Metal structure. And moreover it's the best Morgoth album I've heard. Intriguing intro ("Cursed") is followed by a good Death metal riffs diluted with Doom Metal atmosphere flavored with infrequent NWOBHM solos. In this case these solos doesn't ruin the whole basement and structure of rooted Death metal (as in case of Hypocrisy) but complete whole pessimistic conception of album enthralling with every second. In each part the sound have something with linking to essence of "hopelessness" peculiar to Doom Metal. But from other side "Cursed" is made in vein of Death Metal. This antithesis produce unspeakable impression from this CD. In spite of the energetic and powerful enjoyable conception in whole, finally you get brilliant track "Darkness" fully poured with Doom Metal blend.

1993 "Odium" 1993
1996 "Feel Sorry For the Fanatic" 1996

From the beginning you are attacked with strange sound that more suitable for Speed-power Metal bands than for Death Metallic Morgoth issued quite good four albums before. Clean vocals plus uninteresting guitar riffs taken from all around Power Metal bands. Unfortunately the totally changing of the style means that Morgoth as the Death Metal band is dead for us. There are absolutely no Death Metal riffs here. A weak attempts to play heavy metal with grange plus Tekhno-House shit ("And it's amazing consequences"). There is idiocy on cover and idiocy in music. The fishing of dim Death Metal pieces in muck of strange sound isn't worth powder and shot for us.

(P.S. If you like such records like Halford's "A small deadly space" and his side project Two you can listen this record once time (but I hope you don't), otherwise this album must be avoided.)
