Wolfthorn is a promising German project founded by Thurlokh (whose past was bound with Russia). The lineup consists of two men (as is usual in many TRUE BLACK Metal bands): Thurlokh: nocturnal necropulse,screams from frozen dominion, programming, blasphemous poetry; and the guest musicant- Lord Istraphagor(who has now become a full member of project): guitars.
The music performed on this 20 minute demo-tape is BLACK Metal grounded on early Bathory's era mixed with a mood of "Hvis Lyset Tarr Oss". The guitar solo is inserted quite well inside the second track (this type of guitar solo is seldom used to be inside Black Metal stuff but here it looks quite well). "The Wizard of Black Winds" has only two shortcomings, which are very weak bass support sunk deep in background and inexpressive drums programming. The power and aggression are achieved only by well-written structure line. Vocals and guitars work are up to the strong mark of Black Metal. And these features make Wolfthorn to be a very promising project and to be an example for many "blackmetallers of new Black Metal wave". Good luck to these guys, we're waiting for the final studio touch in which they'll lay down their vision of world through the old school black metal.
