| Enough Time?
By: Lauren Maslowski The alarm clock goes off as you glance at the time and jump up out of bed. Running around your room looking for clothes you hear your dad honk the horn. Quickly you throw on a shirt and run out of the house only to see that your dad left. You walk back inside and grab something to eat. As you sit you see the bus drive past your house. You run outside and start waving your hands frantically around hoping the driver ill come back. As you run to the next bus stop you hear your mom's car starting up. You run back just in time to catch a ride with her. Did this ever happen to you? It's happened to a lot of us. Teenagers need sleep! In order to function in the morning, we have to be awake. If you have gym first period and you're half asleep, you're not going to be able to run the mile in thirteen minutes. Elementary school starts around nine o'clock. Most of the elementary school students get up around six o'clock and watch t.v. for 2 hours. Now, teenagers get up at 6 o'clock or earlier only because we have to. We don't have time to watch t.v. so it wakes us up. We just get up, get dressed, eat something if you're lucky, and scram to the bus stop. 16 students out of 26 think that school should start at a later time. 10 think that school is fine the way it is. Some of them include Dan Seigel and Sabina Arora. So next time you wake up and are rushing out of the door think about if this would happen if school started later-because then we could enjoy life to the fullest without rushing. |
