Action Plans

Daniel Kerwin as GM

Background: Its hard to say what the Vikes will do because we don't know what their plans are for the rest of free agency, pre-draft or post draft. Recent reports say that Green wants to add a veteran CB at some point. Names being mentioned are: James Hasty, DeRon Jenkins, Eric Davis, Terrell Buckley, and Walt Harris. They also are considering picking up Dale Carter after his reinstatement following a drug suspension; he is Jake Reed's brother and has stated in the past that he would like to play with him; in fact, he once signed an offer sheet from the Vikings, but it was matched by the Chiefs. Another "what if" that needs to be considered is the one surrounding the running back position. What if the Vikings make a move to aquire a veteran like Ricky Watters if he is cut, or in a trade involving a 3rd round pick? Below I have devised a few different scenarios that deal with these different contingencies. Note: Before you contact me wondering why I didn't select a player you prefer, please keep in mind that I try my best to predict who will be available at the specified pick; this is not my wish list. For instance, I like Nate Clements and Fred Smoot more than Jamar Fletcher, but I think the possibility of them being available is remote, so therefore; they have not been placed.
