Boulder has its own foreign policy! Boulder has joined Greenspeace in a lawsuit against two federal banking agencies, the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the Overseas Private Investment Corp. of the U.S. These agencies provide financing and insurance guarantees for oil projects and coal-fired power plants in third-world countries, ignoring the stringent guidelines of the National Environmental Policy Act. The lawsuit states that these projects impact global warming by exacerbing the CO2 emissions and that Boulder, prone to flash floods and droughts, is a potential victim of the global warming.

Bush recently went to the United Nations to make his case against Iraq.
