Ashrawi, a former PLO spokeswoman, was invited to give a talk on campus last saturday. About 1,400 people attended the event while about 200 pro-israeli gathered outside for a silent vigil. That vigil soon erupted in vocal protest as supporters of Ashrawi exited after her speech. The Hill, a few blocks away is well known for its noisy student nightlife.
