Budget cuts

Boulder is facing a drastic budget cut for 2004-2005 due to decline of sales-tax revenues. All sales-tax-funded services are asked to reduce their budget by 20-25 %, among them, the Boulder Police and the Fire Departments. This would lead to firefighters layoffs, a dangerous option in Boulder, prone to wildfires during summmer.
