Moving to Alaska....The Land of the Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights
We traveled on the Alaska Marine Highway from Bellingham, WA to Seward, AK
This is a picture of the second vessel we traveled on,  The MV Kennicot
Maddie at Temporary Lodging in Biloxi says "You stinkers...why do we have to move..."
Madeline hangs out with Grandpa and Grandma before the long trip to Alaska.  We stopped over in San Francisco for one week to buy a car, visit, and prepare for the second haul of our 5000 mile move
Maddie enjoyed the view in the backseat during the trip from SFO to Seattle.  And yes....she NO LONGER uses the binky!!! The mailman took it (or so she thinks)
We made frequent stops to take in the sights and stretch our legs.  This was Northern California near Mt Shasta
Mommy and Maddie share a special moment on the ferry to Juneau.  In the background is the beautiful scenery of the inside passage
Maddie tries on a life jacket..it actually fits.:) Snacking while looking at the waves. What a cutie!
This is what the scenery from the ferry was like for the first 3 days of the trip.  We took one ferry from Bellingham, WA to Juneu, AK and a second one from Juneau to Seward
Remember the EXXON VALDEZ?? We stopped at Valdez, AK on the shores of Price William Sound on the second ferry trip. Not much happening here now that all the oil is gone....
