My Career....Friends.....Family......
I guess it would be nice if I could start with my career after my studenthood. Some of you folks might have heard about 'Wind Mills' the giant towers that generate electricity using the hi-flow winds. As I was a bit reluctant to move out of my hometown for work, I had an opportunity to work with NEPC as an Instrumentation Engineer. For few days I enjoyed the sky scrappers of Aramboli, later the extreme hot weather in that area made me to look for some other job opportunity, there I found Excel Glasses Ltd, Alappuzha.

Although I am from the southern border of Kerela never I had been to the Kuttanad area. This time I got a chance to work and live in the Kuttanad area. I really enjoyed the life there; I should remember my boss Mr. Kurup who gave me lot of information about industry environment and also about work culture. Several times I had been to the top of the furnace along with other folks, you may not believe, the furnace melts different raw materials of glass in the temperature ranges from 600 degree Celsius to 1200 degree Celcius. If you look through the spaces between the oven bricks you can see red-hot glass boils. I remember the stories I heard about hell in my childhood. Benoy Vellapally,(colleague and a good friend) and I used to go around Alappuzha downtown in the evening hours. I enjoyed the rush hours of Mullaikkal and the walks I had along the banks of different canals still cherish my memories.I was afraid of only one thing here....it was Mosquito bite, most of you may aware of the reason....if not let me know, I shall tell you. I am missing some of the good friends from here, and the most one is Benoy.

Time came to leave Excel and I got a chance to work with SIV Industries Ltd, Sirumugai. My college days partner Hema helped me a lot to get in to this project. It was exciting to enter in to that huge and well maintained campus for the first time. Lot of different latest technogies were there in the Control Room of this plant, we were developing different software applications for the smooth running of that huge plant. Most of the time we enjoyed the taste of success. It was a well-built team with BG as our boss and 'Software Storm' Senthilnathan as our guide. A big troop of bachelors Rangaraj, Solai, Hema, Viswanathan, Anbalagan, Boopathy, Suresh, Sathish(AK), Leo, Karthi, Giri, Jude were there. Bachelors hostel Bhavani House and Cauvery House were our heaven during this time. The tenure at SIV was my happiest days in my life, the work was so flexible and the work culture was encouraging one and was enjoyable. The experience I earned here gave me the confidence that I can contribute a lot more to the software industry....and I made a big leap here.

When I was at Electronics Research and Development Center, Trivandrum for few weeks I found few other friends like Sankarprasad, Gipson, Sundararaman, Jibu and Dinesh. When we were in this project it was our dedication to learn a lot about the new system and really helped  out to lead a new challenging life in career side.

I think better I can tell you something about my friends from my hometown. Although I was working at different places I was very regular in visiting my home frequently so that I could manage to maintain the friendship with home town folks too. Ours is a village and most of my friends were my own cousins and other step cousins. James, Mohan, Singh Annan and I had a lot of evening walks to Marthandam from our place along the railway track. George and I spent a lot of evenings by sitting on their farm along the river and chatting. Manuel, Prem, Allwyn, Joy, Sriram and I roamed a lot in our bikes and almost all of our trips were remarkably enjoyable. Kishannan has his own role in guiding me and encouraging me and helping me out in all events. He is a special person in my life. Shaj, Ezhil, Anni, Reji Annan, Sunil, Santhosh, Stephen, Jebamani, Arul, Vijayan, Prakash, Mathew, Mano, Reji, Kannadi annan, Isac Annan, Viji, Arthur(s), Arulshalom are other friends to name here.

While talking about our family, my Dad Mr.K. Sobhitharajan is a retired Chief Stores Officer after 35 years of long service with Tamilnadu Electricity Board. His encouragements and guidance enlightened me a lot to mould me as a perfect person in the society. He told me about the ups and downs of life and taught me well how to handle them. My Mom Mrs. B.Kanakom is still working at State Judicial Dept; she is such a confident lady and she was the one who drove our family to a good position with all her hard work and decication. I relied on my Mom whenever I faced tough situations in my life and she had guided me well. My younger sister Beaula is married to Egbert Leo, a nice and soft person who is a kind of all rounder knows lot of technical things. They have a cute boy Aashik, right now he is the most lovable for every one at home. His talks are so sweet and his activities are interesting. My youngest sister Priya is married to Dr.John, he is a gentleman.  Name of our house is Angel Bhavan.

I have few words to tell about my relatives too. There are six uncles and three aunts from my Dads' family and three aunts from my Moms' family. They are all dwelling in different places but Babu Chinnaiah's family is next to our home. Even from my childhood I found him lovable and caring and he is the one who taught me two-wheeler driving in his 300 CC Yezdi, I scared him several times during the training. He used to take me wherever he goes and this gave me a chance to interact with different kind of people. Mohan Annan, Jeeva, Mano, Daya, Suba, Kumar Annan, Suresh Annan, Anbu and Jacko are other cousins to mention here with whom I have more contact. Trip to Veli with Jeeva and Mano was a nice and unforgettable one. My dads' mom was the only Grandparent alive until late recently , and it was my routine to get blessings from her whenever I start something new.

I told almost everything about my life in India, later I came to US. Here in US, I found some of my college friends Hari, Rajapandian, P.K.Sudhaher, Selvamani, Singarayakumar, Subash, Mariappan. Hari used to guide me in different situations from the beginning. Bachelor weekends we celebrated with Raja, Mani, Yasin, Sarath, Prasad, Livingston, Vishu are great nights really. Our Chicago weekends with Rajesh, Santhanam, Gopan, and Rajapandian are also unforgettable. We roamed a lot in the East coast of US and visited lot of places like New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Smokey Mountains, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, St.Louis, Indianapolis, Madison, Niagara etc. When I was in Worcester, life on the 24th floor apartment with Karuppasamy, Narasimman, Balaji, and Chitturi was so good. I also had friends like Prabhu Sathya, Samuel, Venki, Manian, Kalaimani and Jothy from here. Trip to Boston from Worcester was a great one.
