Diesel Boy’s steel gaze sets sights on electronic dance with the intention to kill. The DJ’s weapon of choice: the finely tuned and highly calibrated mix of precision drum and bass. The 6th Session is cold and calculated. Its perception reads like a secure electronic signature file. Deciphering its code of minimal sonic abstractions and the relentless pace of beat and bass requires the right equipment. Any attempts at deconstruction requires a fearless leap into the unknown.

diesel boy > the 6th session

This is also some of the most extreme “techno” I’ve encountered. Its the heavy metal of techno. Angry - loud - aggravating - and at times entirely addicting. I cannot imagine a mind to conceive such a mix. Diesel Boy is either pure genius or perhaps he is not a real person but a computer. His mixes morph like real time rendering of 3D. His track selections for his latest opus all come from the nightmares of HAL. Back in the day, techno pioneers put together what was called “Killer” techno, hard beat, or speedy 130+ bpm blasts. Super fast and shrilly, as if these mavens pushed their sequencers to the extreme, these were the techno that few dared. Nowadays there are DJ’s such as Diesel Boy who surgically resurrect these songs, or parts of them evolved in newer songs, into a whole new monster.
