Part 10 Takes Two to Tango
Yuhka walked down the hall toward her room when she spotted Ryuji heading
in her direction. Maybe he would just walk on by and pay no attention to
her.
"Oh, hello, Yuhka. How are you?" Ryuji responded. "Would you like to join
me for some coffee?" He now figured that the dance lessons and coffee
invite earlier was just a stall tactic for Nao to steal his script. By the
looks that Tae and Rei were giving Yuhka he figured that they thought that
she had something for him. He chuckled to himself. He could use that to
his advantage. Nao had to pay for making him look like a fool.
Yuhka was caught off guard. "I was thinking of heading to my room to
rest." She replied hoping that he would leave her alone.
"Good evening, Yuhka." Ryuji replied pouring on the charm. "Wasn't that a
lovely dinner?"
Yuhka smiled, feeling a bit uneasy. "Yes, it was. The food was wonderful.
The spaghetti was very tasty." She replied wondering what he was up to.
He didn't seriously believe that she liked him like _that_ did he? Or
perhaps he knew more than Nao had given him credit for. Serves Nao right,
she thought.
"Would you care to join me for a drink?" he asked.
"That would be nice," she replied. Nao was going to search Ryuji's room
for something 'important.' Whatever it was she seemed determined to go and
get it out of there. The least she could do for her friend was to make sure
Ryuji didn't walk in on her.
Yuhka tried not to flinch when Ryuji placed an arm around her waist.
Rei and Tae noticed Ryuji and Yuhka enter the bar. Ryuji led Yuhka to a
more secluded portion of the bar.
"Hey, well. Would you look at that? It looks like it's getting serious."
Tae responded.
"So it is. I wonder what Nao will have to say about it." Rei replied.
"They are friends after all and Nao doesn't seem to get along very well with
Ryuji."
Nao entered the room. It had been cleaned up. Nao searched the room. She
couldn't find her diary anywhere. "Where is it?" she replied out loud
trying not to panic.
She looked under the bed and then she saw it. Ryuji's bag of dirty
laundry. The bottom of the bag looked a bit flat. No, she thought. He
couldn't have. Eeeeeewwww!
Picking up the bag from the bottom, Nao dumped the contents of the bag onto
the floor. A few of the shirts were a bit crispy.
"Ew. This is so gross. Ryuji, you are going to pay for this." Nao replied
kicking the pile of clothes to uncover her diary. She bent down to pick it
up and breathed a sigh of relief. She hoped that he didn't read it, but by
the looks he was giving everybody at the table he probably had. Oh, no!
Yuhka. He might find her and tell her what she had written.
Nao clutched her diary to her chest and ran out to the room. She had to
stop him.
Hikari whistled as she walked down the hall. She was on her way to the bar
to join Rei and Tae for a drink.
Hikari never saw her. She had been fumbling with trying to open her pack
of cigarettes when Nao ran into her at full speed. Her cigarettes went
flying and something hard landed on her feet.
"OUCH!" Hikari yelped noticing Nao sitting on the floor rubbing her head.
Hikari noticed a little book at her feet and grabbed it before Nao could
grab it.
"No!" Nao responded.
Hikari looked at Nao who began pleading for her to give it back.
"This?" Hikari taunted waving the book in her hand. "You want this? Why?
What is this anyway?" Hikari opened the book and started to read.
Nao let out a gasp.
