Black History
Please take a moment to read about some of the many contributions of fellow African Americans:

Granville T Woods, known as the "black Edison" invented the Synchronous Railway Telegraph, pioneered underground railway tunnel construction. He  had over 60 patents for his inventions and was sued by Thomas Edison and won!

~Most people know
George Washington Carver invented peanut butter but he also invented ink, instant coffee
adhesives, axel grease, cheese, bleach, sugar, mayonaise, instant coffee, textile dye extraction and much more. He earned 3 patents for inventing a process that made paint from soybeans as well as created 500 shades of dyes from sweet potatoes.

Elijah McCoy, know as "the real McCoy" invented the self-lubricating device for trains and lawn-sprinkler.

Ernest Just was the first person to unlock the secrets of cell functions and sturcture. He also studied egg fertilization and human metabolism. His work allowed many of our current technology to be possible.

~Alexander Miles, a black man, invented the elevator, without it we would find difficulty in reaching high floors.

Sambo Jackson invented ice cream.

~Richard Spikes, a black man, invented the automatic gearshift, without it few cars would be able to operate.

~Jospeh Gammell, also a black man, invented the the supercharge system for internal combustion engines.

~Garrett Morgan, a black man, invented traffic signals, imagine rush hour without light.

~Elbert R Robinson, a black man, invented the electric trolley a precusor to rapid transit as we  know it today.

~Charles Brooks, a black man, invented the street sweeper.

~John Love, a black man, invented the pencil sharpener.

~William Purvis, a black man, invented the fountain pen and the hand-stamp.

~Lee Burridge, a black man, invented the typewriting machine.

~W.A. Lovette, a black man, invented the advnaced printing press.

~William Barry, a black man, invented the postmarking and cancellation machine.

~Phillip Downing, a black man, invented the letter drop.

~Joseph Smith invented the lawn sprinkler and John Burr invented the lawn mower, they were both black men.

~Frederick Jones, a black man, invented the air conditioner.

Alice Parker, a black woman, invented the heating furnace.

~Thomas W Stewart
, a black man, invented the mop and Lloyd P Ray, another black man, invented the dustpan.

~John E Matzelinger, a black man, invented the comb and the shoe last machine.

~Lydia O Newman, a black woman, invented the brush.

~Sara Boone, a black woman, invented the ironing board and George T Samon, another black gent, invented the clothes dryer.

~John Standard, another contributing black man,invented the refrigerator.

~
Julius Hart invented three aerial bombs for use on the battleground of war.
