Gretel - it is against the list policy to advertise puppies through the list. This list is not an advertising forum. We have stated this message several times. I would have expected far better from you. As a result, you'll receive a week's ban from the list.

If you have any questions, please email me privately.

Hi Gretel - advertising is not a great way to go. I have several people on my puppy list that I can't supply puppies to for another year. I've checked this people and they all look fine. Whatever you do, don't send a note to the Rottie email list. It's against list policy to advertise puppies on that. Ben will be furious if that happens.

If you advertise through the paper, you'll have all sorts of people calling you and you will spend hour after hour trying to sort out who is capable and responsible enough to have a pup.

    Sue.

Holy smokes G. I can't believe you advertised through the rottie email list. Tell me you didn't place an ad in the paper too!

Gretel, hello, I am 80 and I have never had a dog before. I have always wanted one though. I need one a pup that will be very gentle and won't need much training. Do you think they will be a lot of work? My husband doesn't want me to have one, but when you get to my age, you don't worry about things like that. Please write back soon and let me know when I can come and pick out a pup.

    sincerely,

    Mrs Edwards

hello, we've never had a pup before. we'd like to buy a female one please so we can breed her and show the children the miracle of birth. a pup would also be a great way of teaching children responsibility. we don't have lots of money, so can you please spare us a thought and let us have a cheap one. we don't want to show it or anything. we just want a pet. then we can breed her and let other people have cheap pets too. we can't afford to pay any more than $80. thanks.

    Majorie Swallow.

We live in an apartment and need a pup that will not be active. Can you please send one that is housetrained. I work very hard, and am often away from home for 12-14 hours at a time. so the puppy needs to be able to hold it while I'm away. I won't have time to train it either. can you do this before i pick it up.

Hi Gretel. I haven't heard from you in a while. How are you going in the search for puppy people. Did you get much response? I have some people on my puppy list here if you'd like them.

    Let me know,

    Sue

Sue - this is a nightmare. I've got so many enquiries for puppies that it's just not funny. Unfortunately 9 out of 10 of these are completely unsuitable. I am tearing my hair out in frustration. I've tried to reply nicely to people and tell them no, and some people just get aggressive. Some even think that I have to sell them a pup. It is just all awful. I'm spending so much time on this that I haven't watched the news in over a week, and I am now so confused that I can't tell the genuine people from the others.

If it's ok with you, I think I'll just stick with your puppy list, and leave all of these enquiries. It's just too hard this way.

    Gretel
