Article 2.0 - 28 Finalists

Now we are talking! VPI2 recieved many great auditions, but we only had room for 28 to advance! The 28 were divided into 4 groups of 7. 2 people will advance from each group, as well as 4 from the Wildcard which will compose our Final 12! There is alot of talent in this season, so things are bound to get exciting! This brand new adventure has only begun! Good Luck Everyone!

Group Four:

Again, we would like to thank Reality Reel Media for hosting our sound files once again this season, it is very appreciated.

Next up tonight, is Cindy Johnson singing "The Trouble With Love" by Kelly Clarkson:

Nick: Cindy, that was absolutely amazing! I admire your progress in this competition. Already you have improved so much from your initial audition. You are definately up there with the potential winners! Well Done!

Ksenia: What a funky voice you have!! I love it. Some things to watch out for- you did a lot of the same runs as Kelly Clarkson does, so you might want to change things around(sing it how you feel it, not how someone else feels it… what helps is to read the lyrics out loud as if it was an acting monologue and see how you say it) Be really careful doing the belty thing on "too" after "sadder and I'm wiser" its really easy to damage your cords(nodes can from that push and the belting on the higher notes) You get a little nasal, but you make it up with phrasing. Some of the higher notes you made tiny flats(more air, think high…also if its very slight you can make up tiny pitch errors with emotion) very well done, that was soulful!

Cory: Wow your really good Cindy, I'm a big fan, you did a great job on this song! I could really feel like the soul in your voice, just be careful with your vibrato some times wasnt even but thats not a big issue, so yeah great job!

Here comes Josh Luke, singing "Stuff Like That There" by Bette Midler:

Nick: Josh, that definately was not a great performance, and I know you know it. I loved your audition, but this song was all pitchy and totally overwhelming. I'm sorry, I didn't like it at all!

Ksenia: That scared me a bit. This song is actually really tough with all the different intervals. Back off the mic a bit and turn up the music some. The pitch was all over the place, which in a few places you can get away with but many you can't. I'd be interested to hear this with more pitch control as well as volume control (the quality of the clip does effect how I judge, how can someone judge when you cant hear it clearly).

Cory: You weren't really singing it seemed like, ethier your voice didnt really have any style, I dont you have pitch issues on the longer notes to, I dont know i just wasn't feelin this performance at all better luck next time!

Is Josh your Virtual Pop Idol? Please vote in the polls at the end of the show!
