Article 2.0 - 28 Finalists

Now we are talking! VPI2 recieved many great auditions, but we only had room for 28 to advance! The 28 were divided into 4 groups of 7. 2 people will advance from each group, as well as 4 from the Wildcard which will compose our Final 12! There is alot of talent in this season, so things are bound to get exciting! This brand new adventure has only begun! Good Luck Everyone!

Group One:

Again, we would like to thank Reality Reel Media for hosting our sound files once again this season, it is very appreciated.

Continuing the show tonight is Matt Robins singing "Can You

Feel The Love Tonight" by Elton John:

Nick: Matt, based on what I have heard from you, this was a great improvement. It sounded like you were confident in your voice, which is great. Overall, the composition of the song was terrible. You mumbled at some parts, you didn't know the lyrics too well and the timing was off. Also, there are a million kareoke's for this song and you chose a bad version. Great effort.

Ksenia: One thing you should learn now is that Ksenia hates MIDIs (aka "plinky plonkies") The vocals were off with the vocal lead on the midi, which caused it to sound off tempo. You seem to have a raspy sound to your voice, so I don't really think this was the best song. Really open the throat on those top notes (raise the soft palate, think yawn) I would like to hear a song with a better karaoke track and maybe not as much echoing (sounded strange with the music)!

Cory: Matt you have a good voice, but i wish you would have picked a different song, becuase disney songs are always soo cheesy and the emotion only works when your a child so yeah good job but no more disney!

Do you want Matt to advance? Please vote in the polls at the end of the show!

The last performer from group one tonight is John St. Croix, singing "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carleton:

Nick: John, I liked the song choice, but your performance was't that great. Definately not the best of the night. You have a deep voice, and you need to pick songs that suit your voice. You went flat alot, and kind of lost the flow near the end. Keep trying!

Ksenia: Oh boy, the song was 85% off pitch. In some places it would have been ok if you sang the harmony but this is supposed to be lead singing. There was some kind of effect on the vocals which covered the sound a bit which isn't too good either. Work on that pitch, listen to the original recording and if you can find the key that the song is in and practice scales in that key. Keep working at it!

Cory: You were kind of off this entire song and it didn’t seem like you were actually singing it was more of talking, so I would work on that for next time yeah just work on it a little harder and you’ll make an improvement.

Do you want John to advance? Please vote in the polls at the end of the show!
