There has been a saint called Baba Farid in Pakistan. He was truely devoted to Gurudev. All of his time used to be spent in serving Guruji.

Once his Gurudev Khwaja Bahauddin sent him to Multan for an important work. There the disciples of Shah Shamstabarej had made a door by the name of their Gurudev & had made announcement that whoever passes through this door today would certainly go to heaven. Thousands of saints & householders were passing through the door on that day. All of them desired to get a place in heaven after discarding the mortal body. Many of the friends of Farid also advised him to pass through the door, but Farid somehow convinced them, completed his assigned work, and reached back to the lotus feet of his Guruji without passing through the door.

The omniscient Gurudev asked generally about Multan & also asked him if any special incidient had occured there. Farid narrated the whole incident about the door of Shamsaji.

Gurudev said: "If I were you I would have gone through that divine door. Farid! How fortunate you are that you got the oppurtunity to pass through that door!"

It is very difficult to understand the divine actions of SatGurudev. The disciple does not even come to know when Guruji is taking his test.

Farid was a true disciple. He had sincere devotion towards Guruji. After hearing the words of Guruji he said: "O Ocean of Grace! I did not pass through that door. I will pass through only your door. Once I have taken refuge at your lotus feet, then I do not want to take refuge anywhere else."

Hearing the words of Farid, the eyes of Guruji was filled with tears of divine love. Feeling pleased about the true faith & devotion of the disciple, Guruji embraced Farid. The blessed words came up from deep inside Gurudev's heart:

"Farid! The door of Shamstabarej had opened only for one day, but such a door would be opened in your name where whoever passed through it on every thursday would directly go to heaven."

Even today thousands of devotees feel blessed to pass through the door of Baba Farid on thursdays in the Pak Pattan town of West Pakistan. This is the imprtance of sincere dedication towards Guru.

Great are the true disciples like Baba Farid who completely surrendered the reins of their life to the Guru & became free of any worries!
