Answer by Swamiji: You can enjoy spiritual practices only when you realize the need to do them.
Story: Once a fox felt very thirsty. Troubled by thirst he ran towards a river and started drinking water as soon as he reached the riverside. A fish observing the desperation of the fox to drink water asked it:
"Fox Uncle! Why do you enjoy water so much? I do not enjoy water that much."
The fox replied, "Do you want to know why I enjoy water so much?"
The fish said, "Yes Uncle!"
The fox immediately held the fish by its neck and threw it on the surface of the hot sand bank. The poor fish started trembling without water. She was about to die when the fox put the fish back in the river and asked:
"Did you now understand the importance of water?"
The fish said, "Yes, now I understood that water is my life and my life is impossible without water."
Lesson: Similarly, when you will experience the need of spiritual practice, you will not be able to live without it.
Once the mother of Guru NanakDev, a great saint of Medival India, asked, "Son, what do you keep murmuring the whole day?"
Guru NanakDevji said, "Oh mother! I can survive only if I keep taking the name of the All-Powerful Omnipresent God day and night. If I do not repeat the holy name, then I will not be able to live. This life is the grace of remembrance of the God's Holy Name."
Thus the real men realize the neccesity of spiritual practises and are always immersed in His Name.
