Perhaps the major private foundation in America devoted to affordable housing. Significant source for technical information and funding for providers of affordable housing.

U. S. Department of Energy Rebuild America Initiative

A major federal program intended to reduce energy use in America's homes and communities. Visions Five is a Community Partner in this program, the first nonprofit housing organization in Tennessee to join as a partner.

Florida Solar Energy Center

A major information source on energy efficient and environmentally sensitive housing. The U. S. Department of Energy works closely with them through the Building America and other programs devoted to saving energy.

Tennessee Housing Development Agency

State agency which has assisted us with funding through the federal HOME program. Good links for housing information at their site.

Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority, Inc.

Douglas-Cherokee, located in Morristown TN, is a large housing and Community Action Agency which assists small rural organizations like ours with technical matters. Good links on housing and economic development.

Steven Winter Associates, Inc.

A large architectural firm based in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Washington DC, Winters works closely with several federal agencies involved in housing. Their site is a good introduction to cutting edge environmentally sensitive housing design for the mass market.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network of U. S. Department of Energy (EREN)

The basic source for information on environmentally sound "green" housing design. Tennessee needs an organization for green affordable housing. Visions Five is working to form one. Keep in touch.

U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ~ HUD

Major federal agency dealing with housing. This takes you to their community services pages. From there the whole world of HUD is available.
