		Challenge 4: SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Vision Visions Five will cooperate with public schools, with technology and vocational centers, and with colleges and universities launching efforts to insure that adequate technical assistance, financing, and training are available to help firms expand and locate in the region. Visions Five will be a catalyst for initiating innovative approaches for improving job related training and education in the region. Actions 1. Actively participate in the process for developing the Consolidated Plan for the region which is developed under the auspices of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency. 2. Expand and strengthen the educational, training, community development and other applications of the interactive telecommunications network begun by Visions Five and now operated by ExCEED which links the rural five counties of Clay, Fentress, Jackson, Overton and Pickett. 3. Develop job-related programs in such areas as health care, telecommunications, and building trades. 4. Link with the University of Tennessee, Meharry Medical School, Vanderbilt University, Tennessee Technological University, Volunteer State Community College, and other post-secondary institutions and technology centers to maximize job education opportunities in the area.
