		Challenge 1: ASSISTED AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND LIVING AND SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY AND THE DISABLED Vision The Visions Five area will have adequate housing, health care, and other essential services available for its growing population of senior citizens of all economic strata. These citizens will be able to live vibrantly and independently so long as their personal health permits. Housing and services to enable them to live in this manner will be available to them from a range of private and public sources. Actions 1. Cooperate with other public and private organizations to construct a network of assisted and supportive housing units to meet the escalating need for affordable housing for the growing numbers of senior citizens of all economic levels. 2. Develop a plan to respond to the needs of senior citizens, being sensitive to their needs not only for better housing, but also for health care, nutrition, transportation, recreation, and education.
